College, ahhhh… It was the best time of our life, despite our financial difficulties. Even if many college students are broke, that doesn’t stop them from having a good time and creating something from nothing. They’ll make you wonder if college students are more intelligent than the rest of us.
Classy in College

Red solo cups are a college classic that is at almost every party. While we’re more used to seeing them used for beer pong or flip cups, these students decided to give them a different spin by turning them into wine glasses. We can’t help but believe that this would be ideal for any Christmas party, and it gives adulting a whole new meaning.
A stitch in time

It’s critical to arrive on time for class, but what do you do if your clock malfunctions? You could either buy one. Or you could be resourceful and reassemble it, using items you already have in your dorm room, such as paper, markers, and tape.
Racket Pasta

Many college students live on campus and don’t have access to a full kitchen, so they don’t have utensils on hand. Even though pasta is one of the cheapest and quickest foods to prepare, you may not always have a strainer to drain the water. But fret not, since you can always use a tennis racket instead as this clever student has done.
Cliff hanger

Nothing is more inconvenient than having your shower curtain fall and the rings break, so what should you do in this situation? Sure, you could go out and purchase affordable rings, or you could use what you already have in abundance—hangers.
It’s a dumpster when it’s not a bar stool.

We won’t lie: this took us a second to figure out. While it appears to be a trashcan, it is actually a bar stool turned upside down with a trash bag placed on it.
Pizza cutter (improvised)

Pizza, like pasta, is one of the most simple and inexpensive meals for students to prepare. But what happens if you can’t seem to find your pizza cutter? You can, however, do as this person did and construct an improvised one out of a ruler and a can opener. While a knife or scissors would have sufficed, this design appears to be a lot more enjoyable.
I’m a couch potato

The couch is the most used piece of furniture in the room. But what if one of the cushions is missing? Instead of having just one seat on the couch, these students devised a brilliant solution. They replaced the cushions with a chair, creating a second seat.
Shine bright

In the event of a power outage or if you can’t afford a lamp, you can create one by attaching a headlamp to a gallon of water, as this student did.
College students are masters at inventing domestic hacks, and this DIY lamp is no exception. We’re blown away by how brilliant this lamp is and how nicely it functions!
Drill the batter

Baking is a terrific way to relieve stress from tests and papers, but what do you do if you can’t find your hand whisk attachment? This student discovered that the whisk was a perfect match for the drill.
How to Reheat Leftovers

When you’re in college, leftovers are the finest. But, finding a way to reheat them when you don’t have access to a microwave might be difficult. These students discovered the ideal method for keeping their lunch warm: a hairdryer. While we don’t think it’s a bad idea, we can’t help but wonder why they didn’t just put their food in the microwave next to their takeout box.
To My Ears, it’s Music

Why not make your phone speakers? Phone speakers aren’t cheap and can cost a lot of money, so why not make your own? This student-created phone speaker out of milk jugs and a paper towel roll that they were about to throw away. We admire how they repurposed household objects rather than throwing them away.
Chopstick pens

Another inexpensive staple that college students enjoy is a cup of noodles. While most people consume them with a spoon, who needs one when writing utensils are available? Because they didn’t have a spoon, fork, or chopsticks, this student decided to eat their noodles with two pens. While it’s clever, we can’t help but ask why they didn’t just drink it like everyone else. However, to each his own.
Drink it down

We can’t think of anything we don’t like about this place. Not only does this student have an Emergency Only kit—we have no idea what’s in it—but these plastic bottle cups are a great way to recycle old soda bottles. We can’t believe this kid was able to make three distinct sorts of cups out of just two bottles!
Legen-Dairy

The dining hall is one of the things we miss the most about college—there were so many different sorts of cuisine to select from, and we didn’t have to cook. This young lady took advantage of the free food and drinks by bringing in an empty milk jug and filling it with milk! For the next few days, she’ll be eating breakfast and drinking coffee!
Cracked me up

Hard-boiled eggs are one of the most affordable and healthy foods, so they’re a perfect choice for college students. Plus, if you’re running late and need to get to class on time, you can eat them on the fly. This student boiled the eggs in their coffee pot instead of cooking them on the stove. We’ll have to give this one a shot to see if it works.
Clean shave

Do you recall a period when you truly shaved every day? We did, the last time while we were in college. When this student’s razor broke instead of buying a new one, they devised a brilliant solution: they hooked the razor head to pliers!
One chore less

Cleaning the dishes has to be the chore we detest the most. And you already know how little time college students have. As a result, this person chose to eat their pasta with plastic wrap over their plate to avoid washing their plate. They’re still using a plate, but they’ve saved themselves the trouble of having to clean it. If only they could do it with their fork.
Incredibly cheesy

Grilled cheese is simple comfort food to prepare if you have access to a stove, grill, or panini press. This student lacked all those things, but she did have an iron. So she grilled her grilled cheese with her iron! This clever hack is one of our favorites! All she needs now is some tomato soup for dipping, and she’ll have a lovely supper.
Shower slides

Shower shoes are required when using a shared shower. But, if you can’t afford them, what are you expected to do? You may be as inventive as this guy, who created slides out of old water bottles. Isn’t it incredible? While we can’t speak to their comfort, the “shoes” are at least watertight. This student, we believe, has a bright future in fashion design.
Deal or noodle

Just when we thought our coffee pot could only make hard-boiled eggs and coffee, someone comes along and makes pasta! Can you believe it, pasta? While we think it’s a great idea, we have one suggestion for them: break the noodles in half next time so they all cook at the same time. However, even if they could have used the crockpot right next to the coffee pot, it’s not a horrible hack.
That really socks

Why do we always seem to run out of socks? They either get lost in the wash or, like this one, end up with holes. So, instead of buying new socks when this one formed a massive hole, this student devised a brilliant alternative. They could have sewed it, but instead, they used a black marker to match their sock. No one will ever be able to tell the difference now.
